A Husband For Christmas by Gail Gaymer Martin

A Husband for Christmas
When I considered starting a new series, I weighed ideas that caught my interest. Though I often write about small towns, I wanted to try something even more intimate and the idea of residence on the same street in a small town.

I prefer using places I know, and though I had never been to Owosso, Michigan, which is a small town, I made arrangements to visit there and had the help of a wonderful woman who is responsible for the Chamber of Commerce and all of the events found in this amazing small town.

The two day visit I made in Owosso sealed my excitement about writing this story. I not only learned about the many interesting community events in town but also in the adjacent two of Corunna. The cities share many events and every season of the year brings back favorite activities for the community.

Do you find firefighter’s lives different? I do, especially since writing this book. They live in danger everyday they work to save people’s lives and property.

The Firefighter’s New Family is the second novel in the Sisters Series. It follows the first novel, Her Valentine Hero, the story of the older sister, Neely. This novel is Ashley’s story, introduced in the first book.

In April, you will read the last story in the series, and you will meet that character in this new book. The third novel,  Rescued By The Firefighter, is also a uniue story that opens our eyes to the lives and dangers of fire fighting.

Excerpt Chapter 1

“Mrs. Fredericks.” The office secretary leaned into the room. “Mr. Russet is here to see you.”
“The twins father.” A heavy sigh whisked the air. “Ask him to wait a moment.”

Amy took another step toward the door. No doubt the sigh signaled trouble.
“Please wait a moment, Miss Carroll. “The twins will be in your class. It might help you to meet the girls. They have a propensity for getting into trouble.” She motioned. “They’re right across the hall in the cafeteria. It’ll give you a heads-up for Monday.”
Trouble. Amy swallowed. “I suppose that would be. . .practical.”
“Yes, and you’ll keep an eye on them while I talk with their father.” She chuckled and motioned her to follow.

AND PUPPY MAKES THREE. . . .

BRIDE IN TRAINING
a new romance novel
by Gail Gaymer Martin

We just returned from a wonderful week at Maranatha Family Conference Center in Muskegon, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Steve spoke on "Best Days of Your Life," "How To Think Like A Cowboy," "How To Work Like A Cowboy" and finished with "Grandpa's Letter To Keaton" (which required a package of Kleenex--for him & the hearers). Great weather. Smooth flights. Fun time with fans. Met lots of new friends.

Now, we have the privilege of featuring a newly released novel by a Michigan native. . . .

Back Cover Blurb:
Perfectionist Martin Davis's life is in turmoil. The lonely businessman's search for companionship led him to adopt a dog--a rambunctious terrier. And now Martin's at his wits' end. When dog trainer, Emily Ireland, offers to help, Martin is grateful--and intrigued.

But he's wary of getting too close to the sweet, pretty Emily, especially when he learns of her scandalous past. Can Martin ever open his heart to the possibility that Emily just may be his perfect bride?

“It is obvious that Gail loves dogs, she loves flowers, and she loves her characters because each one is written so lovingly. I loved Bride in Training. It is a book that will tug at your heart and inspire you to seek your Heavenly Father….” CarlybirdK -- http://snipurl.com/z05ux

Bride In Training received 4 stars in the Romantic Times Book Reviews.

Adapted from a personal note by Gail, taken from her website:

I was a slow starter. When I was in the third grade, my teacher wrote a prophetic message on my report card, "Gail is an excellent writer." It took nearly 50 years…(to become) a published novelist and freelance writer….

As a pre-teen, I wrote a series of Nancy Drew-type mysteries, and in my teen years, I wrote romances --- but not knowing romance needed a happy ending, I often did things like kill the heroine off at the end. Needless to say, my first attempts at romance failed.

Before writing, I taught English and public speaking at a local high school and later became a guidance counselor. I continue to maintain a professional counseling license.

Born and raised in Michigan, I live with my husband, Bob, who is my greatest fan and the best proofreader in the state. Second to writing, I enjoy music, especially singing as a soloist and choir member at my church and a member of the Detroit Lutheran Singers. I also play handchimes and handbells.

I’m blessed to be among the fine Christian writers around the world. Writing romance and romantic suspense combines elements I love—romance, suspense, and my love for the Lord.

"These three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13)
